A recipe for a delicious and nutritious tuna sandwich

Tuna is a cold water fish, rich in omega-3 fatty acids and is excellent for your heart. It contains many vitamins: A, B and D, minerals such as phosphorus, magnesium, iron and iodine, as well as unsaturated fatty acids that help increase muscle mass.

Unsaturated fatty acids are an essential part of the human diet because we need them to create important chemicals. The human body cannot synthesize them on its own – that’s why we have to provide them with food.

There are endless possibilities of combinations when creating a fresh homemade tuna sandwich. However, they are all quick and tasty – all you need is a little creativity to prepare a real treat for the whole family.

1. Tuna sandwich with mustard

Ingredients

  • ½ finely chopped celery stalk (20 g)
  • ¼ finely chopped red onion (10 g)
  • 12 thin slices of chopped tomato
  • 12 slices of whole grain bread
  • 2 cans of tuna (200 g)
  • ½ cup of natural yogurt (100 g)
  • 2 tablespoons of Dijon mustard (20 g)
  • 2 tablespoons of yellow mustard (20 g)
  • ½ cup of freshly chopped cilantro (80 g)
  • Fresh arugula leaves

Preparation:

  • Put the yogurt and mustard in a bowl and mix well.
  • Drain the tuna from the water and add it to the yogurt mixture.
  • Add chopped coriander, celery and onion to the mixture.
  • Mix everything well. Cover and refrigerate for half an hour to “bite” the ingredients.
  • Place six slices of bread on the board. Spread a little of the mixture on each slice and add a few slices of tomato and arugula leaves on top.
  • Place the remaining few tomato slices on top for decoration and lightly flatten the sandwiches together.

  • Add the finely chopped onion.
  • Wash and drain the lettuce thoroughly and chop the leaves into small pieces. Mix it with tuna, mayonnaise and onion.
  • Toast the bread in a toaster and brush with a little butter.
  • Add tomato slices to one of the slices of bread.
  • Place a tablespoon of the tuna mixture on the second slice and cover the sandwich with another slice of bread, lightly pressing them together.
