Preparation (angel’s robe)

  1. Take the wax paper and wrap it around the cup: rest the cup and mark the edges. You will get a spatial shape that will fit the cup.
  2. Cut out the template. Make sure you are not cutting exactly the line, but a centimeter and a half from the line.
  3. Color the waxed paper as you like.
  4. Fold the paper into an accordion. This will give the angel a volume.
  5. After folding the paper, cut out geometric shapes. As much as you like.
  6. Unwind the paper and finish the decoration. Use felt-tip pens to emphasize edges and various elements. The idea is to imitate the pattern of a fabric such as lace.

Preparation (angel wings and face)

  1. Take another sheet of wax paper and draw an angel’s face. Detail it as you like or give it a minimalist style. Don’t be afraid to choose the second option if the previous step was very polished.
  2. Mark the edges with the felt-tip pen, as well as every part of the face, so you can see every detail you’ve drawn.
  3. Color as desired.
  4. Repeat this step to decorate the wings.
  5. Stick each part to the cup with tape or a few droplets of glue. Place LED lights under the cup to illuminate the angel.

Now you have a beautiful decoration to place in any corner of your home. It should be emphasized that this decoration is not only reserved for Christmas. It all depends on what style you give it.

2. Illuminated photo frames

Later in this article, we’ll share a very creative idea on how to enjoy immortal memories at home. Few people today print their photos and instead most prefer to store them in albums on their phones. It’s time to put these memories on display!

Materials

  • Line
  • Scissors
  • Photographs
  • Parchment
  • Glass cups
  • Double-sided tape
  • Candles (traditional or battery operated)

Before starting any of the following steps, we recommend a few things that will make your job easier. The goal is to show your creativity and highlight important memories that you want to remember.

We recommend using landscape shots to cover the glass and candlelight will cover the entire image. If you print a black and white photo on parchment paper, you will give it a nostalgic look.

Preparation

  1. Carefully trim the photo so that it is the same height as the glass and the edges fit perfectly.
  2. After placing the photo in a glass, stick it to the glass with adhesive tape.
  3. If your glass is very large, you may need to use more than one photo to cover all sides of it.
  4. After the photo is stuck on, carefully place the (unlit) candle in the glass.

The great thing about this candle is that it will look beautiful anywhere. It will stand out because of the light or only because of its presence. As an additional advice, we recommend that you use a scented candle to give your lanterns extra value.

Finally, it is worth mentioning that such hand-made lanterns are a perfect form of decoration for all kinds of social gatherings, both at home and outside. Try your own versions of these decorative lighting elements!
